Talking Books for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is a free service that offers audio books on digital cartridge and special playback equipment that are sent to a person’s home. Patrons can request certain titles or have titles selected for them. Patrons must qualify for this service by filling out an application and having a certifying authority sign it, such as a licensed physician, social worker, etc.

BARD (Braille and Audio Reading download) mobile app provides books, music and braille materials that are available through Apple’s iTunes store, and accessed with a patron’s personal device such as an iPhone, iPad or Ipod Touch. BARD mobile app provides a wider selection of material than the cartridges because it contains all content formerly available only on tape. There are nearly 50,000 books, magazines and music scores in audio and braille formats. New selections are added daily. This is a free services for qualifying patrons.
